A. — Qui se tourne vers, qui est orienté dans une direction caractérisée par le 1er élém. V. héliotrope, hémitrope (rem. s.v. hémitropie), orthotrope (s.v. ortho- I A 1).
— BOTANIQUE:
anatrope. [En parlant de l'ovule des Angiospermes] Qui est complètement renversé. Les ovules (...) anatropes ont eux aussi un nucelle droit (PLANTEFOL, Bot. et biol. végét., t. 1, 1931, p. 468).
plagiotrope. [En parlant des branches d'un arbre] Qui pousse latéralement. (Ds GDEL).
B. — Qui se fixe ou agit électivement sur ce que désigne le 1er élém.; qui a une affinité pour ce qui est désigné par le 1er élém. V. dermotrope (s.v. derm-), gonadotrope (rem. 2 b s.v. gonade), lipotrope (s.v. lip(o)-) et aussi:
corticotrope. Qui possède des affinités pour le cortex cérébral. L'hypophysectomie fait régresser le parenchyme des régions moyenne et interne, alors que l'injection d'hormone corticotrope aboutit à un résultat opposé (Hist. gén. sc., t. 3, vol. 2, 1964, p. 648).
entérotrope. Les bacilles appartenant aux groupes typhique et dyssentérique tendent à se localiser dans l'intestin; ils sont entérotropes (ROGER ds Nouv. Traité Méd. fasc. 1 1926, p. 74).
neurotrope. Qui se fixe électivement sur le système nerveux. Virus neurotrope. [Une vaccination] protège contre cette redoutable infection neurotrope qu'est la poliomyélite antérieure aiguë (BARIÉTY, COURY, Hist. méd. 1963, p. 719).
C. — Qui possède les propriétés physiques caractérisées par le 1er élém. V. hétérotrope (s.v. hétér(o)- A), isotrope.
